In order to deliver our guests the highest quality of service, safety, and authentic healing experiences with ayahuasca shamanism, we have assembled a talented team who work at our iquitos office, and at ‘the refugio’ itself.
KELLY GREEN, CHIEF OF OPERATIONS
Kelly has been part of the Refugio Family for over 15 years and continues to help as we move forward into the future of creating a center based on an enthusiasm for healing and the teachings of plant medicine. Kelly has been a large instrument in the progression and change now occurring at Refugio Altiplano. “The happiness and safety of all our guests is the main objective , as we continue to offer one of the most enchanting and sacred places of healing and transformation in the amazon basin.”
Our Shaman
From the hundreds of native Shamans available we work with a select few who meet our requirements of extensive experience, talent, connection with the spirit world and professional integrity.
In order to do this we frequently travel throughout the region, attending ceremonies and consulting with other Shamans, healers and friends, to be aware and acquainted with peers in the Peruvian Shamanic community.
Each shaman has been practicing Ayahuasca ceremonies for over 20 years. This gracious sacrament empowers us to enjoy our lives and celebrate our birthright to health and abundance on our sacred planet, and we are grateful for the skill, dedication, and commitment of our shaman.
With the help of our bi-lingual support staff, you will spend time with the Shaman who will help you understand and translate your ayahuasca experiences.
A talented Mestizo Ayahuascero from a community nearby with over twenty years of experience with the Ayahuasca medicine. He is now considered a great Ayahuasquero as his singing facilitates powerful healing. Jose is a long standing employee of Refugio Altiplano Healing Center. Jose enjoys playing musical instruments and sometimes incorporates them in to his ayahuasca ceremonies, producing incredible sound that reverberates around the ceremony house.
ROSENDO MARIN LÓPEZ
A talented healing man, Rosendo grew up in the Shipibo tradition and tribe near Pucallpa. He has been attending Ayahuasca ceremonies for over 30 years. His singing of icaros in Shipibo invites to relax and embrace the ceremony with a grace and connection that has to be experienced to believe.
MEET OUR STAFF
Mariela, and our bi-lingual secretary Rocio, are based primarily at the office in Iquitos. They meet new clients when they arrive in Iquitos and also work constantly to re-supply the Refugio with clean drinking water and fresh food from the Iquitos market and the surrounding communities.
There is another, larger, full-time group of employees at Refugio Altiplano, providing security, maintaining the buildings and grounds, cooking and serving meals to guests and workers, cleaning the houses, doing laundry, preparing the plant medicines, leading excursions and doing anything else possible to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
